New Equipment System

Community Manager Community Manager | unknown date

There are some big equipment system changes in store! Jewelry and Gems of Power will be transformed and become much more useful - they will have new properties! This means you can collect equipment sets and customize your gear for different roles and situations.

With the help of your gear you can put together builds, optimizing your character's passive abilities. And that's not all! You can change the properties if you like and increase multipliers!
Just imagine it: the same item can become better and more effective. Amazing!

In bastions, apart from symbols and might, there are lots of passive bonuses - health boost, reduced damage, increased companion damage and much more.
These bonuses will switch from bastions to equipment.

All the changes listed below only affect jewelry and Gems of Power accessories.

Jewelry and Gems of Power, as well as their stats (companion damage multiplier, base damage multiplier, health multiplier and so on), will get bonuses from bastions, as well as several brand new effects (for example Ritual Killing - Finishing Strike adds 50% more divine weapon charge).

But what about the bastions? They will continue to be one of the most important buildings - by developing them you can explore symbols and obtain masses of might. Their passive properties were not their strong point. By moving them to equipment, players can unlock new opportunities.

Equipment Properties

There are main and secondary equipment properties. Main properties have a significant effect and secondary properties provide pleasant bonuses, but do not have any major impact on battle. Secondary properties cannot be main properties and vice versa. The higher the quality of the equipment the more properties it will have.

Equipment Quality Number of Properties
Unusual 2 main properties
Rare 2 main and 1 additional property
Epic 2 main and 2 additional properties
Mythical 3 main and 2 additional properties

The new bonuses will enable players to compile sets of equipment for different classes and situations. You will find a full list of the available properties under the spoiler.

  • Critical Hit Chance - chance of critical hit increases by N%.
  • Companion’s Cooldown - there is some chance the companion attack will be instantly recharged.
  • Companion’s Damage - Companion's attack inflicts N% more damage.
  • Critical Damage Bonus - damage from critical hits on the enemy is increased by N%.
  • Base Damage - base damage is increased by N%.
  • Armor Fracture - attacks on the same target increase damage until it grows by N%.
  • Damage from Symbols - damage from symbols is increased by N%. Property action does not apply to divine weapons.
  • Damage to Elite - damage to elite monsters and bosses is increased by N%.
  • Damage to Minions - damage to regular monsters increased by N%.
  • Divine Weapon Charge - divine weapon charges N% faster.
  • Barrier - character receives a rechargeable shield
  • General Protection - all incoming damage is reduced by N%.
  • Protection against Minions - character receives N% less damage from ordinary monsters.
  • Protection against Elite - character receives N% less damage from elite monsters and bosses.
  • Healing Efficiency - healing orbs restore N% more health.
  • Stamina - stamina is increased by N%.

  • Damage at the start of the battle - damage is increased by N% in the first 8 seconds of the battle.
  • Serial Kill - when three enemies are killed, damage is temporarily increased by N%.
  • Ritual Killing - Finishing Strike generates a N% greater charge for your divine weapon.
  • Mobility when Wounded - damage may increase movement speed for N seconds.
  • Mobility after Dashing - dash increases movement speed for N seconds.
  • Crippling Attack - attacks can slow down your opponent for N seconds.
  • Defense after Healing - healing orbs increase protection for N seconds.
  • Mobility after Healing - healing orbs increase movement speed for N seconds.
  • Note that property indicators could differ for different items. For example, the companion attack bonus on one power stone is 8% and 10% on another.

“You can now find a Display all Stats button in the game settings. Click it if you value knowledge over convenience.”

Equipment Multipliers and Integrity

Keep in mind equipment stats are not limited to certain gear, you can get the max stats on a green or blue drop, they are not exclusive to Epic gear. Afterwards you can always choose the drops with the stats you like an upgrade them accordingly.

There can still be different indicators on epic quality equipment, but it has all become much more interesting! The Integrity parameter has been added and this is an item's own stat, indicating how far the equipment's multiplier is from the maximum.

0% 52% 100%
tt_1_1 tt_1_2 tt_1_3

Integrity - this is a convenient tool to measure equipment might. When integrity reaches 100%, you will know that the item's multiplier can not be any higher. In addition, you can increase item integrity!

Item Upgrades

There will be a new screen in the Bag section - Item Upgrades. Here you can replace equipment properties and increase item integrity, by boosting their stats. To improve the integrity of an epic item you need pure matter, which you can get by selling equipment you don't need. And then it's very easy: when you click Upgrade Item, you will boost the item's integrity (and stats) by 1-5%.

Here, by paying a sum of credits, you can replace item properties.

All at the same time or one thing at a time - it's up to you.
When you open the item replacement interface, you can mark what bonuses you want to leave unchanged and this will protect them from being replaced.

Unmarked properties can be replaced for others - you can agree or keep the previous properties, but if you change your mind about making the replacements, you will not get your credits back.

There is no limit to how many times you can re-roll your properties - but they will get a random value everytime: low, medium or high.

Mythical Equipment

Do you want even better equipment? You're going to get it! Boost the integrity of epic items to 100% and you can improve their quality, by receiving a mythical item with 0% integrity. As you can see in the table above, mythical equipment has one main property more than epic equipment. In addition, by upgrading the quality of the item, you boost its stats.

You can also increase the integrity of mythical equipment, but one pure matter will not be enough. You will need additional reagents. To gather them you should complete invasion adventures and hunt for bosses in captured regions.

Summing up: players will get the chance to gather items with the required properties and compile sets of items for different situations, increase equipment multipliers and upgrade equipment quality. Sounds good, doesn't it?

I am eager to see when these changes will happen as well as how it fares when available to all players to use.

Bastions gutted and this new equipment will have all what we got from bastions. This looks like more of credit sink then anything different. I thought we already have a credit sink? oh yeah the Cathedral.

Are we getting more specialized bag space instead of one big bag? so we can start sorting all these different combinations of specs this new system brings.

Are you going to remover the 10 mil credit cap?

Oh well Bastion is just going to be just a might builder.

This will be a good time to increase credit drops as well. Why do the quest in invasion region still don't give credits?

When do we see this system? Will it be at the start of gen 11 or will it be near the end of gen 10?

I could be gladly wanting to know since bastions are getting "changed"? Because bastion farming is quite repetitive and boring to be honest.

That image with the chests had me worried for a second that you'll be adding lockboxes, but thankfully not.

At first glance, the new system doesn't look that bad, but frankly, a lot depends on how all the legacy equipment will get ported over.

I don't post much and I hate to be negative but I am very against this change.  Don't get me wrong, I like the whole concept of the new equipment system and it would be great if it was an additional layer of complexity added to the game but it is not that even though it is sort of being branded a such.  It sounds like players will be losing all of their passive bastion bonuses to be replaced with having to select a few of these passive bonuses to be added as passive bonuses to jewelry / gems.

I agree with the statement in the news announcement "passive properties were not their (bastions) strong point" but even though many of these passive bonuses may have been situational, they are always active and there when you need them.  I also believe many players underestimate just how much of an effect some of these seemingly less useful passive bonuses actual have.  This will no longer be the case as many players will likely focus solely on damage or defensive bonuses and all players will become weaker as a result.  Something like Inertia (increased movement speed after dashing) may seem useless but in something like Coming of Nihaz, is very useful for getting to the next air dome or retrieving sparks in a timely manner.  Just try doing CoN with one or two players between 80 - 100 prestige who don't have their bastions fully developed and you will see just how much of a difference the passive bonuses make especially in terms of survivability.

There are also several useful passive bonuses from bastions that are not even listed (extra dashes, mutual aid, bloodlust, unity, punishment for weakness, desperate resistance and intensive training - attack and survival).  All of these are very useful bonuses so will they be lost forever?

I believe the devs need to reconsider fully removing all passive bonuses from the bastions.  I believe it would be more beneficial to the game if one level of each passive bonus remained in the bastions, this way each player would have a base passive bonus which would give all players access to the passive abilities so they are not completely lost and players find themselves in a situation where they need that bonus but don't happen to have a piece of equipment with that particular bonus.  I would even recommend that the ability to replace item properties be based on which base passive abilities have been unlocked in the bastions.  If for example you don't have serial kill unlocked in your bastion, you can't change an item property to serial kill although you could still get an item drop with serial kill as a property.

I am also worried about bag space seeing as some of us are hoarders and have very limited bag space as it is.  We may need some more bag space for this change because I can foresee having several sets of equipment for different situations.  It would also be nice to have a full equipment set like we have for the artifacts to easily switch sets for the different situations.

I am not so worried about credit costs or having to farm new resources since this would give players something new to farm.

I hate gear grinding in MMOS, it will be a sad day when this change arrives, what was wrong with the system we had with everything being from Bastions? What was the point of even making ascension if you guys are slowly changing everything back to the way it was?

Inc bags packed with a bunch of crap for different situations.

You know, this is one of the things I always hated about this game, and the choices of the development team; you guys are constantly tweaking the character systems instead of focusing on the important stuff : CONTENT

By now we should be decimating the attacking forces on their own planets, but no, we are getting a new equipment system that no one wants.

Sorry for the double post, but i couldnt edit the prior..

Get ready for your bags to look like this people:

Minus all the trophy, and other random junk we had to haul around back in the day, I'm sure yall get the point though.

Bad move team, bad move.

Now we are going to have to not only get the highest rolls, but the proper stat combinations.. oh what fun it sounds like. Stop taking notes from Korean MMOS!

In before Mythical Items on Cash shop..

The guys on the Russian server have already installed this update. One disappointment.

not to sound like a dick but, Pick one god damn system and stick with it! FFS this has been what the 5th or 6th equipment revision? if they spent half the time that they do messing with the damn players with this BS and actually developing more content, this game wouldn't seem so damn dead.

I don't share the same vehement disdain for MyCom or the devs that my fellow players in here seem to have, but I am disappointed.

MyCom, I am disappointed that in a time where your competitors are offering more, the devs have allowed this game to continue to flounder and fumble like a toddler amongst giants.

The premise is unique and unmatched in the entirety of gaming (become an immortal and ascend to godhood).  Perhaps only the defunct Dragon Ball Online MMO could've come close and even that was an abject failure in the end and was shut down.

I am disappointed because MyCom appears to be short-sighted rather than allowing themselves and their brand to become the Russian equivalent of Blizzard entertainment, a juggernaut that commands millions of fans and defenders purely by virtue of their brand name alone.

Branding breeds loyalty and obscene amounts of profit, far more than even the most exploitative mobile games.  The mobile bubble may burst soon enough but the PC/console gaming spheres shall continue to ascend and become more profitable as long as the market will bear it.

At this point in time, SteamSpy reports barely 1k players playing via Steam and server estimates run around a total active playerbase (logged in within the past month) of under 25k total.  Even those are quite generous numbers and the true numbers are something that MyCom (naturally) won't release.  Is it embarassment or apathy?

I will not pass judgement upon any developers or this game other than to express significant disappointment.  Time and time again, this game has a unique opportunity that has been completely squandered through baffling business decisions.  Has this game really made enough profit to justify said decisions?  More profit than it would when making other decisions instead?

Well all I want to say is, getting different maxed sets for different roles is gonna be a huge pain in the ass. What's the incentive for folks to specialize in tank/support sets in exchange for gimping their solo stats? Then this headache repeats itself when next invasion (presumably Reapers) come again, anyone wants to refarm/reroll gen12 Mythic items?

There needs to be some way maxed Mythic items are able to be upgraded past generations on the next invasion.

After doing some further extensive research on this (on the RU side at least), I can confidently state this will be a categorical nerf in more ways than one.  The DPS benefits of being fully-maxed compared to now will be barely a 10% increase, but the drawbacks of that increase will be significantly-reduced survivability.  Even if the numbers are 'larger', that won't translate into significant increases in DPS if the DEFENSES of the mobs/bosses are also increased.  A pretty sneaky way to keep up with player power creep but also misleading as well.

There have been times where I wonder if the devs actively and deliberately hold contempt against the playerbase rather than being willing to work with them to provide a fantastic experience.  Pay to win Pegasus and now a Golem on top of it.  Events that demand excessive saving/grinding (20kk+ creds) for weeks to save up for one event or paying into the system for a pittance of return.  The obscenely-expensive prices on mounts and then they do sales on the mounts that nobody wants while locking the rest away as unable to be purchased.  The removal of credit cost of almost all items and replacing it only with an Argent cost.

SkyForge already took huge hits to the playerbase even with the Revenant release.  New content isn't going to bring players back if the devs are unable/unwilling to work with players rather than against them.

So disappointed.

question. yellow/mythical gears can only be crafted or (rarely) found in ht rare chests, right? distortions will drop the usual blue/purple or rarely legendary stuff, similarly operations will only drop blue/purple?

Hey user! Distortions also have a chance to drop Mythical pieces.

User | unknown date

ok. but only bracelets and broaches, right? meaning the rest (gems/rings/amulets), have to be crafted/rnged from rare chests?
